Nuts N Bolts is a tradition at Christmas time but we like them all year long! The Country Sweet Sauce (hot) adds a bit of a kick to the Nuts N Bolts in our version. We’ve made it even spicier by adding a hot smoked paprika powder but you can use our mild sauce and a milder paprika if that is more to your liking.

Yield: 7 Cups

Ingredients:

  • 2 C Cheerios
  • 2 C Crispix
  • 2 C miniature pretzels
  • 1 C Peanuts
  • ¼ C Country Sweet Sauce (hot)
  • ¼ C peanut butter
  • ¼ C butter
  • 1 T Worcester sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp smoked chipotle powder
  • ½ tsp salt

Preheat oven to 250 F

  1. In a large bowl mix together the Cheerios, Crispix, pretzels and peanuts.
  2. Mix the rest of the ingredients together in a microwavable bowl and microwave on high until the peanut butter and butter have melted. Stir the mixture until it is smooth then pour it over the dry ingredients. Mix until the dry ingredients are completely coated and then spread the mixture out evenly on a large cookie sheet.
  3. Bake on the middle rack in the oven for 1 – 1 ½ hours stirring every once in a while until the Nuts N bolts are dried out and toasty. Let cool and then store in an airtight container
